Amsterdam

During the winter of 1980/81, I had the opportunity to spend a semester as an exchange student at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. The Head of the Department at that time was Jan van de Vaart, a prominent figure in Dutch modernist ceramic design. I seized the opportunity to learn mold making for casting from an experienced teacher named Menheer Kurevaar, a seasoned expert in the field. I remain grateful for the invaluable lessons he imparted - emphasizing precise craftsmanship.
