Teaching

I have been teaching at various locations illustrated below, last time at Angewandte, Vienna’s University for Applied Arts as head of the ceramic department between 2017-2020. 2014 one semester at WIT, Wuhan Institute of Technology; between 1982-84 at the Art University in Linz I taught mold making. I have conducted numerous classes at different institutions throughout my career. These include WIFI and Adult Education in Upper Austria during my student years, Elko Nevada in 1984, the ASUC Studios at the University of Berkeley in 1985, a summer class in Santorini, Greece in 1993; mold making workshops at the Hui No’Eau Visual Art Center in Maui/ Hawaii; and at the Art University in Sofia in 2002 alongside Petra Oxana Lutnyk. I have also taught classes in my own studios, especially about Japanese tools and techniques, hand building and mold making.

I have been invited to lecture and showcase my work at esteemed institutions such as the San Francisco Art Institute in 1984 by Richard Shaw; New York University in 2008 by Judith Schwartz; Queens College in 2008 by Sin-Ying Ho; and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wuhan in 2014 by Mu Bo.
