Weitra
This is the town where I originally come from, in the North of Austria, near the Bohemian border. In 1999, I returned to renovate an old barn into a house and studio with architect Juerg Meister of nextroom. By 2001, I began participating in trade fairs in Frankfurt and commenced the production of cast porcelain and glass vases until 2012. Continuing with handmade series inspired by my time in Japan in the Nineties, I crafted plates and pitchers from slabs along with wheel-thrown bowls. After returning again to Weitra in 2020, I remodeled another old house as I had sold my former one when I moved to Vienna. Despite nearing completion, I continue to work on this house. Amidst my limited time for ceramics, I have embraced retirement by indulging in modeling figures, exploring 3D printing, traveling, and engaging in various activities that spark my interest.
